Would direct openers that have a flirting at the end fall into this category too? e.g. ME: "Hey. I know it sounds random but I think you're the cutest girl I've seen tonight" HER: ... ME: "Aren't you gonna tell me I am cute too. Boys enjoy compliments too"
BTW, I've realized when I say the first part of that opener, I say that in a matter-of-fact tone which makes it ass-kissing (just like direct). What is the right tone for that? And when I say the 2nd part it comes off needy instead of teasing, like I actually need that compliment. At least that how I feel. Any suggestion how to improve that?
